Over the past week our Special Character Leaders have been interviewing small groups of children about their learning in religious education this term and how have they liked it.
This is what the children have to say:
Room 15: We have been learning about God and the Holy Spirit, you can’t see the Holy Spirit, it is like the wind. God created things and we like religious education.
Room 14: God made everything, you can’t see him, three people and the Holy Spirit. God is faithful. We like learning about God.
Room 12: We have learnt how God made us, the Holy Spirit helps God. God’s creations are the flowers, butterflies and animals. We are learning to help each other like God.
Room 9: We are learning to help each other and make right choices. The Holy Spirit is in God. God is three people in one.
Room 10: have learnt about Jesus – Holy Spirit -tapu, Spirit of truth, anointing, Jesus is the truth and God is loving. symbols of the Holy Spirit.
Room 11: God the Holy Spirit and Jesus, God’s creation to us all needs to be looked after, God’s greatest gift was Jesus – he showed us how to live like God.
Room 7: to not damage God’s creation, when is God present? planning more to see more of God’s creation. Being co-creators, learning a plant is a gift from God.
Room 8: God Strand -seasons, God’s creation, tapu, what things are in the seasons.
Room 6: Whenua, how to do good things for each other, Exodus story, Holy Spirit and how it connects to us.
Room 5: God, Sacrament, ten commandments and the Exodus story, different bible stories
Room 4: learning about public and private worship and what this means. How the old and new testament changed. Names and images of God
Room 3: Learning about the Good Samaritan story and how we can be like the characters in this story, through the choices we make.
Room 2: Names and images of God – we drew pictures from the old and new testament and compared these. How through the symbols we are able to identify God as the protector, e.g. a shield protects you.
Room 1: Names and images of God and the Good Samaritan story – how we can be like him.
The Special Character Leaders decided that a lot of great learning in religious education has been happening across the school and all the children and teachers they spoke to were really happy to be learning concepts about their faith, God and the Holy Spirit.
