Kaitiaki means Guardian.  Some of the classes in our school have taken on a Kaitiaki role for different areas of our school grounds.  Room 4 are Kaitiaki of the strip of the field closest to the Fred Thomas Driveway.  This week the children planted some new fruit trees that were donated by Fruit Trees for Auckland.  We planted 7 trees in all.  The following is what Duke Larson and Dominic Aldous wrote –

Hi Parents,  at school we have been getting down and dirty courtesy of Fruit Trees for Auckland.  We have been donated some great fruit trees and everyone has taken part in planting them.
