Congratulations to all performers! The show was an outstanding success, thanks to all the hard work and co-operation of the whole team: actors, dancers, singers, costume makers, ticket & programme designers, set & stage builders and painters, backstage crew, prop makers, make up artists, parent helpers, lighting and sound crew, directors. I am very proud of you all! The email below was received from Monica Stowers, the writer of Maui in its original form, before our creative team developed it further to encompass a whole school performance.
Hello Ms O’Connell-Cooper
I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed watching your production of Maui last night.
To the staff, you have put in an incredible amount of work with such a huge cast and expertise was obvious by the slick performance last night.
To the students you were all fantastic!! Each person in a musical is like a piece of a puzzle and if one piece is not right then the rest of the puzzle looks funny.
You were all doing the ‘right’ thing and the show was awesome. I especially loved the singing.
To all the costume makers, props gatherers, artists, stage builders and tech people, a big high-five for outstanding work!
Thoroughly enjoyed it all! I think a two week break is in order for you all.
He aha te mea nui o te Ao
He tangata he tangata he tangata
Kind Regards
