End of Term Three – what a Performance!

Like Genie, Maui and Kiwi, we have been on quite a ride this term! Successes include three netball teams coming first in their grade, 1 team runners up and another team receiving the overall fair play award and 1 of the winning teams had the least number of goals scored against them for the whole season. in the speech contest we had Ned Barry winning one of the the North Shore Zone Finals and then coming 2nd in the Auckland Champion of Champions last Monday night. There have been some great results in the ICAS Competitions with a number of children gaining distinctions and credits in Maths, Writing, Science, Spelling and English. We also celebrated the Kids for Kids event which saw 70 of our St Joseph’s Choir performing on stage. Cross Country both here at school and at the Pupuke Cluster Even saw plenty of winners at all levels. Rippa Rugby Tournament again brought out the best in the children who took part, despite some very chilly temperatures.

I hope that everyone has a great holiday and a well-deserved break, ready to come back in Term 4, full of energy for learning, for creating, for playing and for taking care of each other. Our concept for Term 4 is Taonga – Treasure and this will be explored and interpreted in many different ways across the school.

A significant Taonga or Treasure of our school is St Joseph himself, the husband of Mary and earthly father of Jesus. Next time you are in the school, take time to look at and reflect on the beautiful icon of St Joseph, in the school foyer and say a wee prayer that St Joseph will guard and protect us, as he did Mary and Jesus. Posted below is another beautiful image of St Joseph.
