At the end of term the school took part in a very special Holy Week Liturgy, with Room 1 completing it on Monday at prayers. All the students were engaged in knowledge, understanding and reverent to the events that took place in Holy Week all those years ago.
On Good Friday 50 children from our school lead the parish in a re-enactment of the Stations of the Cross. It was a truly moving and spiritual time for all who attended. I have had many people commenting to me that they were touched by the reverence, prayer and sincerity of all those involved. Thank you to all the students who took part. God Bless you for sharing your faith with our wider church community.
Thursday saw us gathering once again to share in prayer for St Joseph the Worker. It was a joyful occasion with the children reading a special story about St Joseph’s life and praying for him our school and those have gone before us. We have also been discussing in our classes how Joseph really demonstrated throughout his life our school motto of courtesy, care, co-operation and courage. As the term progresses we will be getting the children with their teachers to come up with a ‘toolbox’ for learning, like St Joseph had his tool box. One thing the children really took away from the Liturgy on Thursday was that he was a learner and a prayerful man who practised both his carpentry skills and his prayer life. Something that we can think about practising ourselves.
