Thank you to students and families of the children from McAuley House who took part in Ministries or came along to Mass last Sunday. Thank you to the choir for leading the singing.
Rooms 5 & 6 celebrated Mass with the parish this morning, supported by the guitar group and Room 1. Lovely behaviour, prayerfulness, reading and singing!

A Chess Team from school will be competing in a Catholic Schools’ Chess Competition at St Paul’s Massey on 25 September. There have been elimination rounds running at lunchtimes in the last few weeks and the announcement of the team members may be made today…..breaking news!
Next Tuesday, September 9th, there will be a Keeping Ourselves Safe Meeting for Parents, in the Staffroom at 2 p.m., for anyone who can make it. The emphasis will be mainly on “online safety”. Next term, especially during the first two weeks, the learning across the school will be on KOS – Keeping Ourselves Safe – physically, emotionally, socially and mentally and the Police Education Officer will be visiting the school and working with teachers and students. More details will come out to you from the teachers, which are relevant to the year levels of your child.
Last but not least, Happy Fathers’ Day to all our wonderful Dads, Granddads and Uncles! Please remember to pray for the full recovery of Mikal’s (R1) Dad.
What Makes a Dad
God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle’s flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it … Dad
