We are proud of you Angela!

Angela Braganza, eight, of Auckland, was aiming to solve the 3 x 3 Rubik’s Cube in under 25 seconds at an official speedcubing event in Hamilton on Sunday.
. Rubik’s Cube enthusiasts show their skills in Hamilton
It took eight-year-old Angela Braganza four weeks to master the Rubik’s Cube and beat her dad’s best time.
Having picked up her first cube a year ago, today it takes her less than 20 seconds to unscramble the multi-coloured puzzle.
“My best time for the three by three cube is 18 seconds but I can do the smaller two-by-two cube in seven seconds,” she said.

More than 50 competitors gathered at Hamilton’s Wintec city campus on Sunday for an officially sanctioned speedcubing event.
Angela joined 52 mostly male competitors at an official speedcubing event at Hamilton’s Wintec city campus on Sunday.
Speedcubing involves solving the Rubik’s Cube or similar puzzles as quickly as possible.
As one of the event’s youngest competitors, Angela was quietly confident of a good showing.
“I’ve done a lot of practice and have a good memory so I’m hoping I can do well,” the Auckland youngster said.
Like many competitors, Angela got hooked on speedcubing by watching internet Youtube videos.
American teenager Collin Burns holds the world record for the three-by-three Rubik’s Cube, with a time of 5.25 seconds.
Mukund Karthik, 14, and friend, Cheng-Ru Yang, 13, were aiming for a sub-10 second time with the three-by-three cube, but speedcubing in front of peers added an element of pressure.
SHAKEOUT
In case of any actual emergency occurring at school, children would be cared for until such time as parents were able to arrange for their collection. All communication would come to parents via text and email with likely postings and updates on the school website. Should all lines of communication be down, children would be cared for. Guidance would be received by Civil Defence.
