Principal’s Message
On Tuesday May 28 next week we celebrate NZ Catholic Schools Day. Cardinal John Dew talks of National Catholic Schools day as being a wonderful celebration of what our schools are and are meant to be. This year the theme is “Extending Christ’s call to love, to be, to do”. This is reflected by Pope Francis’ challenge to us to go to the people in our communities who are struggling in many different ways and to share God’s love with them. We will be celebrating this day with a School Mass. Parents and whanau are welcome to join the school at the Parish Mass beginning at 9.15 am.
Next week we will be welcoming the Education Review Office (ERO). An ERO review looks at how an early learning service or school reaches positive learning outcomes – knowledge, skills, attitude and habits – for all children and young people. They are interested in what’s working well and where improvements can be made.
On Wednesday May 29 our school will be CLOSED for the day. This is the day that the principals and teachers of primary and secondary schools will be taking strike action.
We wish our Cultural Group every success for their performance on Friday May 31. The North Shore Catholic Schools are having a Cultural Festival at Rosmini College for the students who are in cultural performance groups, and their parents. Our grateful thanks to Gallo Boyle for supporting our students in preparing for this special event.
God bless
