Principal’s Message – September 21
PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Dear Parents
Welcome to the final week of Term 3. It has been another interesting term in the year of Covid.
The Principal’s Message will cover the following topics:
- Alert Level
- Harbour Bridge
- Drop-off/Pick-up Safety
- Term 4
Alert Level
Today the Prime Minister announced that Auckland will be moving into into Alert Level 2 beginning Wednesday, September 23rd at 11:59pm. Auckland will stay in Alert Level 2 for two weeks. Cabinet will review Alert Levels on Monday, October 5th and it is hoped that on Wednesday, October 7th at 11:59pm, Auckland will move into Alert Level 1.
Harbour Bridge
This week, and possibly the first week of the new term, we will all be affected by our travels to/from school and work due to lane closures on the Bridge. We encourage parents to ensure the children do come to school. It has been a disruptive term for them and it is important they have this week at school. We appreciate that some students will be late arriving. Upon arrival, they should go straight to their learning spaces. You do not need to sign them in.
If you find you are unable to collect your child by 3:10pm, please could you give us a ring – 09 489 4994 – and let us know your anticipated time of arrival.
Drop-off/Pick-up Safety
- All children exit the car when the car is parked by the bollards.
- No children exit the car before the car is parked by the bollards.
- Parents parking their car in any of the carparks need to escort their children to the school side of the bollards.
- When children exit the car on the left-hand side, they should walk in front of the car to ensure parents can see their child getting safely to the school side of the bollards.
- Students walking/biking/scootering into school from Dominion Street need to go down the path, through the courts and along the path on the school side of the bollards.
Term 4
Over the upcoming school holidays, we will be reviewing the Term 4 programme. The programme will reflect the Alert Level and correspond with the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health guidelines. As has happened this term, we will adjust the plan, should the Alert Level change through the term. Our focus for Term 4 is to provide a full programme of learning, mindful that there has been a significant disruption to this over Terms 1-3.
Thank you for your support through what has been another interesting term.
Take care, stay safe.
Ka manaakitia koutou e te Atua.
