PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Dear Parents
Welcome to the end of the first week of Term 4. This morning at our first school prayers, we welcomed the students who began their schooling under Covid-19 Alert Level 3 in the second half of last term. Next Friday, we will welcome the students who began their schooling this term, at school prayers.

School Hats
Please ensure your child has the correct school hat which they will need to wear daily whenever they are outside. School hats are to be worn in Term 1 & Term 4. Please ensure they are clearly named on the inside of the hat.
2021 School Year Dates
This week a notice was sent out with school dates for 2021. These include two mandatory Teacher Only days which we have aligned with Rosmini and Carmel’s Teacher Only days for 2021.
Community Engagement Survey 2020
Today you will be receiving a link from Ask Your Team to our Community Engagement Survey 2020. Please complete this survey, as it is informative for the teachers and the Board, assisting in their planning for the 2021 school year. The emails with the link are sent to each parent who has their email address on our school data base. It may go to your Spam inbox. If you can’t locate it, please email principal@sj.school.nz. The survey closes on Friday, 23rd October.
Progress Report Survey 2020
At the end of Term 3, Year 3-6 parents received their child’s progress report during the student-led conference. We have trialled a new report format as a step towards online reporting. On Monday, 26th October, the Ask Your Team Progress Report Survey 2020 will be sent out for parents of Year 3-6 to complete. It closes Friday, 30th October.
Term Events
Teams have sent out the event dates for Term 4 that relate to their students. All these events are on the school calendar. There is plenty on for our students for what what will undoubtedly be a fun final term of the year.
PTA
The PTA have their AGM in the Staff Room on Thursday, 22nd October beginning at 7pm. All parents are welcome.
Labour Day
Just a reminder… Monday, 26th October, the school will be closed for Labour Day.
Election
Tomorrow, Saturday 17th October, election booths close at 7pm. There is an election polling booth in our School Hall.
