Kia ora parents and whanau,

Welcome to the new school year. I trust you have had a wonderful holiday with your whanau. We look forward to seeing the children back on Tuesday 9 February. It will be wonderful to have them all back.

COVID-19 Alert Level 1

The Government continues to monitor and report on COVID cases here in Auckland. The Ministry of Education contacted schools last week and asked that we remind families of the following;

scan QR codes on entry into businesses, including when entering school
stay home when you are not well
contact the health line (0800 358 5453) if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptons
wash / sanitize hands regularly
cough / sneeze into your elbow

As a school we will continue with the Covid-19 Alert Level 1 procedures that were put in place on October 8 2020.

Staff Retreat Day

The school office will be open this week, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On Wednesday 3 February the staff will be having a retreat day and the office will be closed.

Tuesday 9 February

This is the first day of the 2021 school year for students. Students begin their day at 8.50 am in their 2021 home group space. Students can arrive from 8.15 am onwards as this is the time at which students can enter school and their home group spaces.

Students new to St Joseph’s are invited to come to the school office on their arrival at school. We will be arrange for them to be taken to their home group.

School Prayers

School prayers will continue to be on Fridays at 8.50 am in the hall. All parents and whanau are welcome to join the students for these prayers. The first school prayers is Friday 12 February.

Uniform

Please ensure your child has the full correct uniform. This includes the correct hat and full black sandals or shoes. There are items of second hand uniform at the school office. To view these please come to the office Thursday or Friday this week.

Stationery

Student stationery can be purchased through www.myschool.co.nz. Type in the school name St Joseph’s School (Takapuna) and the select the name of the team your child’s home group is in.

Etap Emails

We use the Etap platform to send emails from teams and teachers to their home groups. We have been informed that microsoft is randomly hiding some etap emails. Please add etap.co.nz to your ‘safe’ list to ensure you receive any emails sent by school through the etap platform.
