PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Dear Parents and Whanau,
It is great news that we are returning to Alert Level 1. Thank you for your support with COVID-19 Alert Level 2. We appreciate that parents like to bring their youngsters into school in the morning. So thank you for letting your children walk in on their own from the school office under COVID-19 Alert Level 2. Please be aware that Pick-Up in COVID-19 Alert Level 1 is from 2:50pm, at the end of the school day. Please click on this link to read the Alert Level 1 Information Letter. This contains all our procedures for COVID-19 Alert Level 1.
Thank you for all your support and positivity through what has been an interesting start to the 2021 school year.

Care For The Poor
The Auckland Diocese has entities and Apostolates that support the poor and marginalised. Can we support these organisations as an individual? Is there another way in which we can care for the poor?

Apostolates:
SCHOOL MASS
Our first school Mass for 2021 will be on St Joseph’s Day.
All parents and whanau are invited to attend this Mass with the school. It is being held on Friday, 19th March in our church, beginning at 9:15am. This will be followed by morning tea in the staff room which parents and whanau are invited to.
SCHOOL DISCO
The PTFA are putting on a School Disco on Thursday, 18th March to celebrate the beginning of our 2021 school year. All families are invited to put on their dancing shoes and join in this fun evening.
- 6:00 to 7:00pm – Year 0 to Year 2 students and families
- 7:00 to 8:00pm – Year 3 to Year 6 students and families
Please bring along a can for entry and gold coins to buy BBQ sausages and refreshments for you & your children.
All the money raised and the cans of food go to the Takapuna St Vincent de Paul group who are supporting local families in need.
We recommend students bring their own water bottles and they will be filled in the kitchen as requested.
BEACH ED
As we are now in COVID-19 Alert Level 1, students in Team Kea and Team Kakapo will be able to participate in the Beach Ed programme next week. Please check the school calendar for the day your child’s Home Group is going to the beach.
Parents going on the buses with the students will need to wear a face covering, as will the staff.
PTFA
The PTFA will be meeting on Monday, 15th March at 7:15pm in the staff room. All parents are welcome to come to this meeting. And don’t forget to check out the Facebook page. Search for “St Joseph’s School (Takapuna) PTFA & Community” under “groups”.
