Kia Ora Parents & Whanau,

This week we have a number of our students receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation and First Holy Communion. The children received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time earlier in the year and will be receiving Rite II this week.

On Thursday evening, these children will be confirmed by Bishop Michael. The Sacrament of Confirmation is when we receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Bishop Michael will lay hands on the candidates and anoint them with the holy oil of the chrism.

Over the Saturday and Sunday Masses this weekend, the children will be receiving the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. It is when the children will receive the Body and Blood of Our Lord for the first time. This is truly a special celebration.

We wish all of the children receiving the special Sacraments over this week all God’s blessings.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 10th is a Teachers Only Day. 

School will be closed for the day.

This day has been aligned with Rosmini and Carmel Colleges,

also closed for their Teachers Only Day.

• Wednesday, August 4th – Recap and Rehearsal –  All meet in the church at 6.30pm
• Wednesday August 11th –  Rite II Reconciliation – 5:30pm for children and parents in St Joseph’s Church. Others wanting to come are also welcome. (Please note the earlier time)
• Thursday August 12th – Rite of Confirmation – 6pm with Bishop Michael Gielen.
• Saturday/Sunday August 14th & 15th – First Holy Communion – In all Sunday Masses at St Vincent de Paul Church and St Joseph’s Church.

We are interested to receive feedback on this new report format. Please check your ‘Spam Box’ if you haven’t spotted the “Ask Your Team” email in your ‘Inbox’.

We’re hoping to get all Knowledge-athon sponsorship money in by the end of this week. Please place your child’s sponsorship form and any money raised in an envelope marked ‘ATHON’ (please note your child’s name and home group on the envelope); and then drop it into the PTFA box in the school office.

If you would prefer to deposit your child’s sponsorship funds electronically, please return your child’s named sponsorship form to the PTFA box in the office with ‘BANK TRANSFER’ marked on it and transfer funds electronically to the PTFA bank account (12 3026 0316672 00) including your child’s name, home group and “ATHON” as references.
