ST JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC
SCHOOL
TAKAPUNA
PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Dear Parents
Tomorrow our school is closed for the Matariki public holiday. Enjoy this wonderful family time celebrating our Māori new year.
We look forward to seeing you at the school’s Matariki celebration which is the Matariki disco being held next Thursday in our school hall beginning at 5:30 pm for the Kiwi team. The Kakapo and the Karaki Teams disco begins at 6:30 pm. Children need to be accompanied by a parent if they are attending the disco. Check out the details of the Matariki disco in the poster below.
Next week you will be receiving your child’s progress report by email. This is the second part of the mid-year reporting process. The first part was ‘Sharing the Learning’ where your child was able to share their learning for the term. Next week you will also receive a link, through which you will be able to arrange a meeting with your child’s teacher on Friday, 2nd of August. This is the third part of the mid-year reporting process.
On the final day of Term 2, Catholic schools throughout NZ have a ‘Weekend Wear’ day. This is to raise funds for a specific cause that supports children in the Pacific region. This year we are raising funds for ‘Holy Trinity School’ in Papua, New Guinea. Check out the Caritas YCC link. Please can the children bring along a gold coin on Friday, 5 July and they are welcome to be in ‘weekend wear’
A reminder that this weekend, the Parish is having its “Beyond and Build Expo”. This is an opportunity for parishioners to look at opportunities as to how they can be involved in Parish life. There are also opportunities for your children to be involved. Check out the information below, on how you and your children can be involved.
Take care
Ka manaakitia e te Atua
