PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear Parents

What an AWESOME disco last night. It was so great to see you all there. Thank you to the wonderful PTFA who put this AWESOME evening on for the children and their families. Our thanks to the DJs and to the Rosmini and Carmel College students who did an amazing job supporting the PTFA and keeping our children safe. Thanks also to our wonderful sKids team who provide our families an amazing before and after school care service. They provided the prizes for the AWESOME dancers. Thanks to you, the parents, for bringing your children to the disco. It is a very special school event which is enjoyed by all.

Last night you will have received by email your child’s report. If you have not received it, please contact your child’s teacher by email. On Friday, 2nd August, we will be providing you the opportunity to meet your child’s teacher. Please book online through schoolinterviews.co.nz. Teachers look forward to meeting you at your child’s parent/teacher conference.

This is the final day for Term 2. We look forward to welcoming the children back on Monday, 22 July for the first day of Term 3. Check out the school calendar on the website as to the various events that are happening throughout the term.

NSCS KAHUI AKO SPEECH COMPETITION

This term, the Kakariki children have been writing and presenting speeches as part of their literacy programme. They first presented their speeches in their home groups; and three speeches from each home group were selected to participate in the Kakariki team speech competition. Earlier this week, 15 students presented their speeches to the Kakariki team and judges.

The standard of the speeches was amazing. They covered a range of topics and were of a very high quality. Congratulations to the 15 children who were the finalists for their home groups.

The Kakariki speech competition saw two of our children enter the North Shore Catholic Primary Schools Speech Competition. They presented their speeches yesterday morning and returned to school with first and second place! A huge congratulations to Noel who won first place and Mikhail who won second place.

YEAR 6 NETBALL TEAM SHINES AT NORTH HARBOUR NETBALL DAY

Our Year 6 girls netball team had an exciting and action-packed day at North Harbour Netball, where they played four thrilling games against various schools from the region.

The girls showcased their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the day, making us incredibly proud. Each game was a testament to their hard work and dedication during practice sessions. The team displayed great enthusiasm and determination, and their performance on the court was nothing short of impressive.

Congratulations to all the players for their outstanding effort and to the coaches and supporters who cheered them on. We look forward to seeing more fantastic performances from our Year 6 girls netball team in the future!

TERM 2 SPORT

Congratulations to all the children who participated throughout this term in the various out-of-school sports code teams representing St Joseph’s. You have had a great season and it has been wonderful to hear how well you have all done. Thank you to your coaches, managers and supporters who were all there for you and your team.
