PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear Parents,

Well we had an AWESOME school Olympics Day today. It was great to see the children participating in the various Olympic events throughout the day.

The morning saw the children make their country flag and their gold medal in their learning spaces. Then we all met for our Olympics Opening Ceremony. The children walked a circuit, waving their country’s flag. The various country’s national anthems played, the Olympic flame lit and the oaths read.

Following morning tea, the children participated in sporting activities. Kiwi children did their activities together while Kakariki and Kakapo had mixed teams. Fun was had by all and the day ended with the Closing Ceremony

This week, we welcomed our new five-year-olds and their families. It is always lovely to see the youngsters arriving on their first day of school. We look forward to welcoming them at School Prayers next Friday, August 2nd.

Also, a reminder that next Friday is an opportunity for Year 2-6 parents to meet with your child’s teacher. You are able to book your meeting through schoolinterviews.co.nz. The school is open through the interviews and the children are expected to attend school that day. Parents are welcome to collect their children after they have had the Parent/Teacher meeting. Your child will head home at the normal time, if you are not attending a meeting that day.
