For the first two weeks (8 school days), our children will be participating in a variety of activities that will allow them to get to know their classmates, as well as the teachers in their team. This is also an opportunity for children to be reintroduced to the school’s Mercy Values and Motto – the foundations of our behaviour management programme. It is also a great opportunity for teachers to get to know the children in their home group and team.

The school day ends at 2:50 pm.

Please ensure your child knows how they are getting home …

• you are meeting them in the quad
• you are collecting them by car via the pick-up area
• catching a Rosmini bus
• catching a Taharoto bus
• being picked up from the Lake House Cafe

All children are accompanied off the school grounds by an adult, parent or teacher, for safety reasons.

If you are walking in to collect your child please park either in the parish parks or on the courts. Please …

• wait for your children in the quad area and your children will come to you
• do not go onto the decks or into the learning spaces
• do not walk up the stairs to HG 1 – 6
• leave the grounds as quickly as possible in order that we can open the gate for the drive by pick-up system
• do not allow your children to play on the junior playground – it is closed until 3:30 pm

We are trialling a new school structure for 2025. The Government’s new curriculums are Year based. The new
structure will allow teachers to deliver one curriculum level as per the Government’s expectations.

The Home Groups will be as follows:

Mr O’Connor is taking a year’s refreshment leave for 2025; and Mrs Linehan is moving to a part-time teaching
role for 2025. Mrs McAteer started one of our Year O classes part way through last year and will be completing
her contract.

Friday, 14th February, we will be having our School Opening Mass beginning at 9:15 am. This Mass will be celebrating the beginning of the new school year and we will be welcoming the new students and their families to our school community. All whanau are welcome to join us for this special occasion.
