PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Dear Parents
It was wonderful to have parents, whanau and parishioners join us for our Ash Wednesday liturgy on Wednesday. It was a lovely liturgy that saw the children sharing prayers and singing beautifully. Our thanks to Father Mark Bond for leading the liturgy.
This year has seen the introduction of the new NZ English curriculum and the new Mathematics and Statistics Curriculum. All schools have received the documents. Both documents are set out in Year Levels and the expectation is that children are taught, assessed and reported on, in relation to their year level. This is a new way of delivering the curriculum. It is designed to ensure that children are exposed to what they should be doing at their year level. As you are aware, we are trialing single year level home groups this year which supports the introduction of the new curriculums.
As part of our reporting process parents will have the opportunity to see their child’s Term One progress at ‘Sharing the Learning’. We have ‘Sharing the Learning’ on the mornings of Tuesday, 7th April to Thursday, 9th April. Parents will be welcome, and are encouraged, to come along between 8:15 am and 8:50 am to see their child’s learning. Please put these dates in your diary.
Please continue to pray for Pope Francis.

LENT
The redemption of creation during Lent, we undertake a journey of conversion to prepare for the celebration of Christ’s passion, death and resurrection. When we live as children of God, redeemed, led by the Holy Spirit and capable of obeying God’s law, we also benefit creation by cooperating in its redemption.
LAST CHANCE TO ENTER COLOUR DASH
INTRODUCING…Colour Dash, a vibrant and inclusive community event that Creative Abilities are bringing to life. Our goal is to help make Aotearoa a more inclusive and accessible place for all, and this event is a big step toward that vision.
In addition to being a joyful celebration of movement and connection, Colour Dash is also a fundraiser—100% of entry fees go to the Liz Soper Foundation of Care, which enables life-enriching extracurricular activities for people with high-needs disabilities.
