Board of Trustees – 15 December 2020
Board of Trustees Message
Dear parents, teachers and members of the school community,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you on behalf of the St Joseph’s Board for your contributions during this extraordinary year. Our school and our children are in great shape, which is a result of our community’s collective effort to maintain our programme of learning and a focus on the wellbeing of all our students, staff and whanau.
Our children’s academic achievements this year have continued to be strong. Despite the disruption by COVID, standards have been maintained, which is an excellent outcome considering the circumstances. Below is the related data. I would like to acknowledge the efforts of the leadership team and staff in supporting our children and helping them to continue to thrive in difficult circumstances.
Our second survey confirmed that our children, teachers and parents are satisfied and engaged. It also highlighted that we are making progress in the areas identified as ones we coud build on in the previous survey: communication, celebrating success and reporting. Below is the data around these concepts.
I believe our school is exceptional. What makes it exceptional is that our children achieve fantastic results, whilst also learning how to demonstrate and live by the values of our school motto: Courtesy, Care, Co-operation, Courage. Our values and Catholic Character are what differentiates us from our neighbouring schools. It is why we chose St Joseph’s Takapuna for our children.
Next year we will consult widely with our community as we set our school’s strategic objectives for the next three year period. As a Board we look forward to your contribution to this process.
Wishing you all a safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
