Diocesan Mission Map
Rangatahi / Young People
“Young People, you are not the tomorrow, you are not the ‘meantime’, you are the Now of God”
Pope Francis
One of the key priorities of Diocesan life as articulated in the Diocesan Mission Map is to build up the spirituality of our young people
“Christ is alive! He is our hope, and in a wonderful way he brings youth to our world. The very first words, then, that I would like to say to every young christian: Christ is alive and he wants you to be alive!”
These are some of the starting words from Pope Francis in his document, Christus Vivit. Pope francis countinuously encourages young people to keep dreaming, to be couragous and to take risks. As the Church continues to severe young people, we would like to remind you of the infinite love that God has for each and everyone of you. The gifts and talents that you bring are needed in our church today. Keep saying YES to the plans that God has for you and watch his adventure unfold for you.

Term 2 Music Programme
Thanks to the 2019 PTFA Christmas concert fundraising initiative, we are excited to be launching a new aspect to our music programme which will happen over Term 2.
To further enhance our current programme, we will have a specialist music teacher coming into the school each week, during Term 2, from Jellybeans Music (Australia and New Zealand’s leading primary school music provider). This specialist will run a weekly music lesson for each class.
The programme is based on the New Zealand music curriculum and the children will have the opportunity to sing, explore the fundamentals of music, and use instruments such as glockenspiels, hand percussion, and recorders (for the older children).
This programme also provides fantastic resources and training for our teachers to be able to integrate new songs and music into their own classrooms ongoing basis.
Alongside the Jellybeans programme, the school will be using a portion of the funds raised to purchase new instruments for the students.
This is a fantastic initiative and one that we are really excited to be able to offer to the children. This is thanks to the ongoing support of the PTFA and our wider school community that has allowed us to offer this programme within our school. THANK YOU
NZ Opera
On Friday 26 February we welcomed the NZ Opera for their biannual performance. All our students gathered in the hall to watch their performance of Don Pasquale. There were four cast, the pianist and our very own opera singer Mr Peter O’Connor. It was a wonderful performance which all the students enjoyed. Congratulations to Mr O’Connor for his AWESOME performance.
Health Information Forms
Thank you to the families that have returned the Health Information form for your child. These are important as they ensure we have all the correct information on your child’s health needs and your current contact details. Your child brought the form home on Tuesday 21 February. Please could you complete it and have your child return it to their home group teacher. Thank you
