Today Takapuna  invited a group of us to their school to meet the Wales Under 20 Rugby Team.  70 students put their names into a hat and the students lucky enough to be drawn out were Jack, Felize, Levi, David, Tayla, Noah, Kate, Kelly, Joshua and Fletcher.

We walked down to Takapuna School with Mrs Bon and Mrs Kelly. We were almost at the gate when we saw the team walking up the road. We stopped and waited for them waving our Welsh flags.

The Welsh team were welcomed by a Powhiri and the Kapa Haka team performed.

Groups from Forrest Hill, Milford, Takapuna and St Joseph’s were invited to do some drills. One of them was a game like hot potato except it was in two line and the ball was passed along each line, while a player ran through the middle trying to score a try at each end before the ball was passed back.

We loved getting the autographs and talking to the players David managed to get his Warriors shirt signed by most of the players including his new buddy Steffan Hughes. It was awesome getting a chance to play against Wales and the other schools.
