God Strand

At the moment, the  children are learning about God – Te Atua .

Throughout the school, in the God Strand, we are learning

  • That God is holy and the source of all life and all grace and all holiness.
  • That people are created in the image and likeness of God and are called to believe in God.

The strand focuses on developing a greater relationship with God through our head knowledge and our heart and soul experiences.

The children are given many opportunities in their learning to develop the above, not just in this strand but throughout their school day.

Below are scripture quotes for you to think and reflect on your relationship with God.

“Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46)

“Speak Lord, your servant is listening” (1 Samuel 3:10)

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the greatest and first commandment” (Matthew 22:37-38)

“I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living” (Psalm 27:13)

“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1)

“As a father has compassion for his children, so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him”(Psalm103:13)

“Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever”(Psalm125:1)

“The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear. The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid”(Psalm 27:1)

“Thus says the Lord… “I have loved you with an everlasting love, so I am constant in my affection for you.”  (Jeremiah 31:3)
